Prisoner accused of killing in prison in northern California – Mercury News

One prisoner in San Diego is accused of attacked and killed a prisoner colleague on a prison in Sacramento, state correction officials said.

The 30 -year -old Tyler Yates and Jake Kennedy, 32, are accused of using improvised weapons to attack Jonathan Rude, 39 years old, in the main exercise yard, around 1:20 pm, at the California state prison, officials said in a press release.

In order to disperse the prisoners around the fight, the correction officers drew a warning blow, the officials said. The officers began to perform measures to save life rude, and 911 was called.

A paramedic pronounced rudely dead about 20 minutes later.

No other injuries were reported, and the officials reported that they have a limited movement in the yard when the attack took place, investigators said.

Yates and Kennedy were moved to a restricted home unit waiting for the investigation.
