Toyota rebuilds its painting, adding auditors and foreigners

Tokyo – Toyota has announced that it intends to restructure its Board of Directors on Tuesday in what it has described as an attempt to bring more diverse opinions and to provide auditors.

Six appointments include Christopher Reynolds, now executive in North American car operations. As a lawyer and the son of a Ford worker, he brings experience in human resources and risk management, according to Toyota.

The number of women on the 10 -person council will increase from one to two with the appointments of Kumi Fujisawa, an independent stranger and entrepreneur, and Hiromi Osada, anterior auditor toyota. George Olcott, formerly auditor, will also join the Board of Directors.

The number of external members will increase from four to five.

Takanori Azuma, an official of Toyota human resources, said the new council includes auditors for the first time.

Azuma said that completions are designed to bring various opinions to its leadership as “weapons for survival” in a changing environment.

“It would be a mistake to assume that what we believe will be what customers and people around the world can empathize,” he said.

The manufacturer of luxury models Camry Sedan and Lexus tried to turn into what he calls “a mobility company”, because the auto industry undergoes drastic changes, including the arrival of new relative income, such as Tesla and BYD.

President Akio Toyoda, from the founding family of the company, and the positions of the executive director Koji Sato will remain unchanged.

The company will request the approval for the new Council within a meeting of the general shareholders at the end of this year.
