Felipe Massa received an October date for the first hearings of his case against Formula 1 chiefs in the 2008 season.

The case of the Brazilian will be heard on October 28 at the High Court in the UK, the mass challenging the result of the Grand Prize in Singapore in 2008.

The infamous “Crashgate” thought it was sent to the F1 past, but Bernie Ecclestone’s revelations in F1 Insider in March 2023 revealed both he and FIA president Max Mosley knew that the accident was deliberate in the 2008 season, something they previously claimed otherwise.

As a result, Massa filed a file at the British courts that require “moral” and “reputational” damages as a result of the incident.

Once from October 28 to 31, it was now set as a starting point.

The representatives of the FIA, the management of Formula 1 and Ecclestone, whose birthday is the same day, will be obliged to appear in the court in London, because the case is heard for the first time.

Massa told Planetf1.com in March that he is “here to be recognized as a world champion,” he lost in the 2008 title at Lewis Hamilton.

It is unlikely that the mass will be handed to the title of F1 as a result of the procedures, which means that the financial compensation could be handed if the Brazilian wins.

In September 2023, Massa’s legal team sent conservation notifications regarding the documentation of several associated parties in this case.

Ferrari, the Massa team participated in 2008, received such a notification, as well as Alpine (the current Renault F1).

They also received notifications, Steve Nielsen, Renault’s sports director since 2008, Briatore, Symonds and FIA sports director, Steve Nielsen (sports director at Renault). These were instructions for all parties that they have the obligation to ensure the preservation of any relevant documentation under their control that may be relevant to the procedure.

A preservation notification is an instruction to ensure that the documentation is not deleted, destroyed, modified or annotated in any way.
