Deadly stabbing on 27th Avenue and Thomas Road a few days after separate QT shooting

Phoenix – a man is dead after being found with stabbed wounds outside a Phoenix Quiktrip comfort store just a few days after a deadly shooting in the same location.

The investigation was centered around the store near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road and started on Sunday around 7:00 pm.

Phoenix police say a injured person was found on the spot. The victim, identified as Ryan Festa, 35, was taken to a hospital where she died later.

During a preliminary investigation, the detectives believe that the Festa was stabbed to a bus stop and then went to the comfort store for help.

No suspects have been identified and the investigation remains in progress.

Anyone who has information is urged to contact the Phoenix Police Department or the silent witness.

A Quiktrip spokesman sent a statement to ABC15 saying that the stabbing happened in another location, but employees and customers tried to help the injured person.

The full statement writes: “On Sunday night, an individual entered the location of Quiktrip, near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road, in search of aid for a stingy wound suffered somewhere, apart from the store. While the injuries of the individual were fatal, we are grateful to the employees and clients Quiktrip who immediately provided assistance while waiting for the arrival of the first respondents. As always, we appreciate the quick response of the Phoenix Police Department and work closely to help investigate this incident. ”

Counselor Laura Pastor, District 4, provided the following statement ABC15 on the incident:

“It seems to me the heart for the victim of a meaningless stab at a bus station that took the life of a person who is facing homes. I am grateful for citizens who jumped to try to save their lives. This shows me that even in troubled political times, we are still willing to help those around us without (judgment). The attack, which happens along the corridor 27 Avenue, is even more proof that we have to expand our operating centers throughout the 27th length. And to continue to support and finance public safety. Recently, the legislation led by the Republican in the state of Arizona has implemented a flat tax and reducing the residential rental tax, which saves the Phoenix tenant less than $ 10 per week, but (drastically) reduces revenues by $ 235 million to the fiscal year. 25-26 a portion of which has an impact on public safety. If you are looking for the place where public safety financing has been lost and crime has increased, do not look for more than 1700 West Washington. “

This is the second fatal incident in this location within three days.

Friday a man was shot and killed there During what the police think it was an attempt to rob. Two men were arrested about shooting.
