Robert F Kennedy cancels the influenza vaccination advertising campaign and the key vaccine policy session

The new US Health Secretary, Robert F Kennedy JR, has ordered the disease control and prevention centers (CDC) to stop the advertising campaign by encouraging the absorption of this year’s seasonal anti -Ryripal vaccine.

Kennedy also postponed the meeting of the CDC consultative committee for immunization practices (ACIP), a key event in the Agency’s calendar, shaking the alarm in the public health community.

The movements of the secretary of health that entered, who made his career as a professional anti-vaccine activist, have appeared in contradiction with the insurance given during his confirmation hearing in which he promised that he would not undermine the faith of the Americans in vaccines.1

The advertising campaign “Wild to Mild” of the CDC, which has been carried out since 2023, aimed to promote the flu vaccination by highlighting its ability to prevent severe complications even when it does not stop the infection.
