Shot deputy, killed while responding to domestic call

Hinds County, Miss. (Wlbt/Gray News) – a deputy was shot and killed while responding to an internal call in Mississippi.

The Hinds County Sheriff’s office said that deputy Martin Shields, Jr. and another deputy responded to an internal call to a Terry house, Mississippi.

When they arrived, Eric Brown, 42 years old, shot shields, according to the authorities.

Brown worked at the Hinds County Sheriff’s office for about 9 months.

“Deputy Shields died a hero. Died while responding to a service call to help someone who needs it. He fulfilled his mission and mission given by God on earth. Jones said that he and Shields “shook hands” to a call in which they both respond to the reports of a captivated boat before Shields responds to the domestic call.

Jones said that Brown died in the house and had a shot wound, but it is not known if he was self -infected or if he was shot by a deputy.

The Mississippi investigative office is investigating this incident.
