Alabama Alabama prison security guard for drug trafficking, more

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) – A security guard who works at a Alabama prison is facing multiple charges, after a correction officer of the Alabama correction department has discovered an attempt to smuggle within the unit, according to the Alabama correction department.

The Arianna Slater Security Guard is accused of promoting prison smuggling, possession of marijuana and drug trafficking.

Employees from Ventress Correctional Facility, located in Barbour County, were following a routine drug screening when found smuggling in a food container belonging to Slater, the authorities said.

Smuggling included:

  • 13 grams of marijuana
  • 46 grams of fentanel
  • Mobile phones, loading blocks and USB cables

After Slater was detained for query, a search was performed on her vehicle. Investigators did not reveal if they recovered any evidence in the vehicle.

Slater was transported to the prison in Barbour County, where he is waiting for a court hearing.

An investigation conducted by the Division of Application Services of the Adoc law, or LESD, is ongoing. Additional taxes can be pendent.
