The 4th arrest made in Pleasant city officials, theft scandal

Mount Pleasant, Texas (Kltv) – a fourth person was arrested in connection with a scandal involving theft by the former and current employees of the city.

Henry Nichols Chapppell, former City of Pleasant, is the most recent reserved under accusations related to dollars in public tax. Chappell joins the current counselor Sherri Spruill, former counselor Galen Adams, and former manager of Ed Thatcher as those arrested so far. The current mayor Tracy Craig has also been charged in the scandal and is now the only accused part that has been arrested.

The five subjects received 15 large jury drafts on February 20, all regarding alleged cases of demanding hundreds of dollars in money with reimbursed gas. Each request claimed that the person drove hundreds of kilometers for the business of the city’s government, and the indictments list numerous incidents for each topic in total of thousands of dollars worth wrong.

Details on the indictment are the following:

  • Indictment 1-3: Accuse Thatcher for falsely entered information on behalf of Craig, Adams and Chappell.
  • Requirement 4: Hatcher accuses for wrong application funds for Craig, Adams and Chappell in total $ 4,045.24.
  • Requirement 5-7: Accuse Adams of the illegal credit of funds on different occasions totaling $ 4,552.56.
  • Requirement 8-10: Accuse Chappel of illegal acquisition of funds on 11 different occasions totaling $ 4,552.55.
  • Indictment 11-13: Accuse Craig of illegally acquiring the funds on different occasions totaling $ 8,401.
  • Indictment 14-15: Accuse Sprurill of illegal acquisition of funds on different occasions totaling $ 9,800.13.

Adams has been reserved for two charges of theft and one of hijacking the financial property on bonds totaling $ 25,000. Spruill was reserved under a fee for each theft and diverting on total value of $ 15,000. Chappell’s taxes and bonds were matching Adams. Thatcher was arrested and reserved in the Rockwall County prison on January 29, on a $ 1,000 bond. All four were tied on the same days with their arrests.
