Edmonton man accused of theft, assault

Edmonton, Ky. – A man in Edmonton is experiencing accusations related to a reported burglary.

According to a uniform citation, the Sheriff’s office in Metcalfe County was sent immediately after midnight on Wednesday at William K. Smith Road for an hanging of 911.

The deputies say that upon arrival, they spoke with the appellant, who said that Bruce Basil Jr., 18, from Edmonton, beat the windows of his house.

According to the authorities, the appellant said Basil then tried to force the entrance to the house. The appellant said he pushed Basil back from the door, the authorities say, and Basil pushed the appellant back and tried to enter the house.

Basil was arrested and faces charges of grade I and fourth degree attack (minor injury).

He stays at the Barren County Detention Center.
