Kazakhstan integrates AI, digital technologies to modernize the legal system

Astana – the Minister of Justice, Yerlan Sarsenbayev, presented initiatives aimed at digitizing and modernizing the Kazakhstan legal system in a government meeting on February 26, reported the Prime Minister’s press service.

The key initiatives focus on improving the application system, introducing digital technologies and process automation. The robot of the judicial executor will be modernized with a higher collection threshold and a digital assistant for creditors and debtors will be launched. In addition, automation will make processes more efficient such as lifting arrests and travel restrictions.

The legal services will also be more transparent by biometric identification in the e-Star system. The removal of territorial restrictions on notes and private executors will give citizens greater freedom in choosing legal specialists. Online consultations and a free legal assistance chatbot will continue to improve accessibility.

Automation with AI will increase efficiency in forensic activities. The introduction of the E-Sararama 2.0 system will improve the speed and accuracy of forensic exams, while virtual autopsy using computerized tomography will extend forensic medicine capabilities. The Criminal Examination Center will be optimized and paid research services will be developed.

A digital platform will allow the automatic monitoring of the use of copyright for intellectual property protection, and a mobile application will be introduced for authors and copyright holders.

The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, stressed that the Ministry of Justice currently offers 94 public services, of which 90% are available online. The query of 61 business processes improved legal consultancy, the execution of judicial decisions and forensic examinations, increasing the efficiency by 54%. In 2025, it is planned to re -enter another 31 business processes.
