Police officer Leeds injured as a brick thrown in the car

Police said the suspect, who wore dark clothing and face coverage, was the passenger on a bicycle riding by another man who cried abuses to officers.

They followed them then as they left.

The officers are eager to hear from anyone who has witnessed the incident or who has information that could help the investigation, especially anyone has relevant CCTV or Dashcam images.

Det under Sarah Lambert, the chief of crime of the Leeds District, said: “This is a shocking incident in which a police officer was attacked while doing his job and working to protect the public.

“The attacks on the officers are completely unacceptable and we hired to find those involved.

“The welfare assistance is offered to the injured officer, and our investigations remain in progress.”
