Financing US Financing affected the Global AIDS response: Report

Finanznachrichten news

Washington (DPA -AFX) – United States Financing Freeze does this on the Global AIDS response, according to a new situation report published by the UN Agency accused of the disease response.

Unids said that at least one state report on the impact of discounts was received from 55 different countries until the beginning of this week.

This includes 42 projects that are supported by the US president’s emergency plan for AIDS or Pepfar and 13 who receive US support.

Two days after the Executive Order of President Trump, at the end of January, said a 90 -day break for all foreign assistance, the Secretary of State issued an emergency to resume “humanitarian life -rescue assistance”, including HIV treatment.

Unids later reported that there was a large “confusion” on how the field renunciation was implemented.

The 16 reports received from the Unids Country offices worldwide during the last week show that these renunciations have resumed clinical services, such as HIV treatment and preventing vertical transmission, in many countries that depend on US funding.

However, it is not clear how long the financing will be based on several reports that the key systems of the US government and the staff responsible for the payment of implementation partners are either offline or work on a great capacity, said the UN agency.
