The alleged culprit in the theft of ATVs faces charges of crime

February 27 – The man who is supposed to be behind a series of thefts in the spring of 2024 is facing several crimes at the Flathead District Court.

Tyson Andrew Nelson, 37, is expected to be notified before Judge Dan Wilson, on March 13, under charges and theft. He remains in the county prison with bail set at $ 41,000.

Nelson’s alleged spogge began on April 25, when he and another individual entered a US dealer near Kalispell, cutting the fence and leaving with two Suzuki All-Terrain vehicles, according to judicial documents. The two ATVs were evaluated together at $ 24,296.

Although the thieves wore dark hood, shields and black face shots, the sheriff’s deputies in Flathead County dug surveillance images with ATVs at a storage installation on the same day. The detectives have identified Nelson as one of the individuals, said the judicial documents.

One of the two vehicles appeared in Ronan in May. The police there alerted the sheriff’s office after leaving a check for a person who traded for this on Facebook Marketplace, the judicial documents said.

That person would have identified Nelson as the other person in exchange and told the investigators the two met at Nelson’s Kalispell house to conclude the agreement.

In the same month, the deputies investigated a report by a suspect trailer left on a private alley, while the owner was outside the state. The investigators found an abandoned utility trailer with its door, said the judicial documents.

They followed the owner of the trailer and established that he was stolen from a storage facility. Although it was not damaged, the owner estimated that the thieves left for about $ 8,625 in articles stored inside, said the judicial documents.

Subsequently, a neighbor reported that he saw the trailer to appear with a green toyota and a new ATV, according to judicial documents.

Supervisory films from the storage facility in which the trailer was stolen captured two men in ski masks loading ATVs on it, the judicial documents said. The investigators recognized one of the men like Nelson, supported the judicial documents.

If he is convicted of the more serious burglary offense, Nelson could receive up to 20 years in Montana State Prison and a fine of $ 50,000.
