The Binghamton man pleads guilty of burglary charges

Binghamton, NY (WBNG) – Broome County District Lawyer, Paul Battisti, announced that a Binghamton man was guilty of burglary.

The district lawyer’s office said that Jamie Viviano, 43, from Binghamton was found guilty of the second degree. The office added that the guilty plea is followed by Viviano’s involvement in two separate robberies.

On August 5, 2024, officials reported that Viviano illegally entered a residential building at 1 Mather St., in Binghamton, and stole coins from the distributor of a quarter washing machine.

According to officials, on December 13, 2024, Viviano repeated the crime to steal the coins. However, this time, Viviano scored a knife at a residential building worker, while he was actively stealing.

“The safety of our community is of extremely important importance,” said Battisti District Lawyer. “We will continue to shoot people like Mr. Viviano for their violent and illegal actions, and this guilty plea ensures that he will face significant imprisonment for his crimes.”

Viviano is scheduled to be sentenced on May 27 and can receive a six -year sentence in state prison, followed by five years of evidence.
