Judge of Harris County Lina Hidalgo on the freeze of local budget and rape vaccine awareness

Harris County (Kiah) – Harris County officials create concerns about the risk of measles as the Houston Rodeo and Spring Break Travel is approaching. Health leaders ask families to ensure that children are aware of MMR vaccinations (measles, mumps and rubella). The public health department of the county stressed that measles is an extremely contagious disease, which can spread rapidly, especially during large meetings. Officials noted that, although there have been no recent cases in Harris County, the increase in Texas causes that vaccination efforts are critical. Judge Lina Hidalgo said she was working with community organizations to help create awareness. “This is a serious illness and we need everyone to be vaccinated,” said the judge in Harris county, Lina Hidalgo. “We do not want anyone to take this easy, especially with so many future events. We have Rodeo to come and we have spring break with many traveling in Harris county. We do not want to be the next epicentric of measles.” The judge stressed that the freezing of financing will not affect any necessary action regarding measles. Full story at
