Wicker temperatures result in the end of Milltown’s snowman

Milltown, wis. (Inter -county leader) -while most of us enjoyed temperatures in the 40s and even in the 50s, the warmer weather led to the premature end of Jeffrey the Snowman from Milltown.

The crews with Carlson Construction worked hard on Wednesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 27, eliminating the giant hat, buttons and other objects from the snowman. Owner Craig Carlson said: “We cannot compete with the warmer temperatures that came earlier this week and seem to stick. Earlier this week, the nose fell and one of the arms becomes unstable. So, we decided to end Jeffrey’s running for the season earlier than expected. ”

Jeffrey started a late start, and the crews could not build the annual Milltown landmark until mid -January, and that was from the snow collection from several parking lots. Last year there was no way, Carlson had to resort to the construction of a fake snowman for the first time.

Jeffrey started in 2019, and several years of abundant snow packages – in 2020, 2021 and 2022 – meant Jeffrey blocked for several months, becoming a local favorite. Visitors away from Ohio and South Dakota have signed Carlson guest book this year.

Carlson says: “We hope to return when Snowfall allows the end of this year or early next year. We have some different ideas for 2025-26, so stay around and see what will be new. “Jeffrey also serves as a fundraising, a local scholarship; However, Carlson acknowledges that donations have been “declining” this year due to shorter run than Jeffrey’s waiting.
