Authorities say that the death of Bay Area whose corpse was found at illegal dumping was accidental - East Bay Times

Vallejo and police officials said on Tuesday that the cause of death for a man found on an illegal dumping place at the end of 2024 was accidental.

A crew of public works in the city of Vallejo, which carried out a cleaning near the 2300 block of Broadway St., on December 24, met James Oakley II, 58, was fatally injured. Later, Oakley was discovered had been compressed in debris.

An investigation by the Vallejo police department on Oakley’s death has established that there is no indication that no person intends to cause injury, bodily or dead injury.

An autopsy of the Coroner’s office in Solano County has established that the cause of death would be a blunt force. The lawyer’s office does not deal with a possible criminal element of death, but only the cause.

The office of the Solano District Prosecutor on Tuesday said there is not sufficient evidence to file criminal charges.

“The city sends its deepest condolences to the deceased person,” said Vallejo manager Andrew Murray, in a press release on Tuesday. “This was a tragic incident.”

Despite the news in the city, some groups of unspoken lawyers, such as low -income residents in Vallejo, have requested an immediate morals for all camps and cleaning until a complete review of relevant policies, procedures and supervision.

“We cannot afford another situation for this to happen again, and the general public – which includes our dissatisfied residents – deserves transparency,” the group said.

The group said he tried to arrive in Murray earlier this week, but did not receive an answer yet.

“As we have said many times, our final goal is to have a collaboration relationship with the city, but we cannot do this without being meeting halfway,” the group said.

Death comes about eight months after the US Supreme Court has decided that cities are free to eliminate homeless camps even when those living on the street have nowhere to go.

Vallejo is currently working at a navigation center and the Broadway project, which have been encountered for years. The Broadway project is currently over 85 percent. According to Murray’s message in Vallejo Weekly this week, the city manager said the final employment certificate will probably be in May, with the full employment until August.

Since 2018, the lower judgments have prevented the local governments in California and all over the west to arrest or complete people because they slept on public property, if the beds were not available in homeless shelters. When the cities moved to close a camp, in general, they were expected to offer to all those who live there or housing. But few cities had resources to move all dissatisfied residents inside.
