Port Byron man arrested in Ledyard for crime, charges of crime

Ledyard – deputies from the office of the sheriff in Cayuga County arrested a man from Port Byron on Wednesday, under multiple charges of crime and crimes following an internal incident.

Sheriff Brian Schenck said that Matthew Palmer, 41, was arrested on charges, including aggravated criminal contempt, a crime D; 1 -degree criminal contempt, an offense e; criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, an offense; and the criminal possession of the seventh degree of a controlled substance, also a crime.

The deputies replied on Wednesday at 3:16 to an unknown call near Dill Road and Redmond Road in Ledyard.

Upon arrival, they found a victim who had been suffocated and beaten.

The victim was transported by the ambulance in southern Cayuga to the Auburn Community Hospital.

The authorities located Palmer in the victim’s vehicle and transported it to the public safety building in Cayuga County.

Palmer was notified in the court and remains in arrest at the prison in Cayuga county, on a bail of $ 20,000 or a bond of $ 40,000.
