Hyderabad: A five-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a youth from the Mandal Ghatkesar from the Medchal-Malkajgiri district on the outskirts of Thursday.

The victim’s family recently moved to the locality looking for a better life.

According to the available information, the suspect K Sridhar (21 years old), who belonged to the same neighborhood, would have made sexual progress and also sexually assaulted the girl in her house in the absence of parents.

The incident, although delayed to be reported, was brought to the girl’s mother’s attention, who subsequently filed a complaint with the Local Police.

Ghatkesar police have registered a case and took over investigations.

The suspect was arrested.
