The Minister of Justice of Romania, Radu Marinescu, has requested a public explanation why the influencers controversial by Social Media Andrew and Tristan Tate were left to leave the country on Thursday.

The brothers – who are currently experiencing accusations, including trafficking in people in Romania – have been under the travel prohibition for more than two years before being raised, allowing him to fly to the US.

Marinescu asked the Special Criminal Investigation Service, DIICOT, to “carry out any investigation necessary to discover the prompt, correct and impartial truth.”

Andrew, 38 years old, and his 36 -year -old brother Tristan, have strongly denied the accusations against them.

The brothers are Dual Citizens from the US-UK and were first arrested in Romania in 2022, where they are accused of having trafficking in people and formed an organized group to sexually exploit women. Andrew Tate is also accused of rape.

They spent a few months in house arrest in Romania, before prosecutors announced on Thursday that the travel ban was raised and the American passports of the pair were returned.

Despite this, the investigations on their alleged crimes have not been abandoned and are expected to return to Romania.

In the US, they also face a civil case from a woman who claims that the brothers have forced her to sexual work and then defamed her after giving evidence to the Romanian authorities.

The brothers also face separate accusations in the UK of rape and human trafficking.

On Friday, four British women who accused Andrew Tate of rape and coercive control have asked the United Kingdom government to “immediately ask the US extradition to the UK to face justice.”

They said in a common statement that, if not, “it will not be just us, it will not fail, but all the British victims of the alleged sexual violence.”

They added: “We do not doubt the personal commitment of the secretary of origin towards the victims of sexual violence, but we need action, not words.”

The exit of the brothers aroused concerns that the Romanian prosecutors felt political pressure from the Trump administration. On Thursday, the US president said he knows nothing about their release.

The Minister of Justice of Romania said that the father’s “proclaiming detention” brothers “if they fail to return to Romania to meet continuous investigations in cases against them.

But the International Lawyer for Human Rights, Silvia Tabusca, who followed the procedures, does not believe that the brothers will return to Romania.

She said that BBC Andrew Tate was “technically correct” when, upon arrival in Florida, he said there is no live indictment against him and his brother, because a second case has not yet been presented to a judge.

In December 2024, the Bucharest Court of Appeal decided that an initial indictment – the first case – which was issued in June 2023 could not proceed in its current form.

In August, the Romanian authorities began a second investigation into the new accusations of minor trafficking, sexual relations with a minor and money laundering.

When both cases have been transmitted to the court, they will become live.

“It is actually a kind of action in the two cases against them,” explained Mrs. Tabusca.

“A great question mark is hung if they will ever return there to deal with the trial, what the US government would do in such a situation and what pressure did the British government put on the US to extradite them in the UK to meet another set of accusations there.”

The Minister of Justice of Romania said that the father’s “proclaiming detention” brothers “if they fail to return to Romania to meet continuous investigations in cases against them.

“There are legal mechanisms to solve this situation,” said Marinescu, which could be a reference to the extradition treaty between the US and Romania.

Request a public explanation of the reason why their travel prohibition has been raised, because many Romanians express their concern that there seems to be a law for the rich and influential and another for ordinary citizens.
