Amazon responds
The Amazon spokesman, Maame Attakora, said that people who make deliveries on behalf of the company do not knock on the doors and do not ask customers to sign packages unless they are provided. You can check your account to see when deliveries are expected.

“Unfortunately, there are bad actors who are wearing clothing to commit crimes and we will postpone the police for any official statement about this special crime,” said Attakora.
