The month of awareness of national developmental disabilities

March is the national month of awareness of developmental disabilities.

Kelli Grisham, the superintendent Blanchard Valley Center/Hancock County Board of Development Disabilits, said that March is a moment when exceptional efforts to increase the awareness of people with disabilities in our community.

“In Hancock County, we focus on the individual every day, not just in March,” Grisham said. “With this, it is wonderful to have a month in which we can present both the amazing people we support and the efforts of our staff as amazing.”

Grisham said that Blanchard Valley Center is planning an impressive line of activities to celebrate the Moon to raise awareness of developmental disabilities. These include:

March 1 – BVC will have a resource meal at Pancake Day, hosted by Kiwanis Club from Findlay High School. Turn off -you and get information about the services and supports we offer. Breakfast is from 7:00 to 1 PM Pre-selling tickets are $ 7 for adults and $ 6 for children 12 years old and under and more of the elderly. Door tickets are 1 more dollar. Pre-selling tickets are available at AAA Findlay, Heavenly Pizza and State Bank on Lincoln Street.

March 4 is Advocacy’s day at Ohio State House. Lawyers in Hancock County will visit and talk to legislators about important issues for the DD community.

March 4 – The Findlay Municipal Council will issue a proclamation that declares March as the month of awareness of the developmental disabilities at its meeting at 18:00.

March 6 – Hancock County commissioners will issue a proclamation at their meeting at 9:30.

March 6-Aktion club will raise funds with a leading lunch at the Blanchard Valley Center, 1700 E. Sandusky St. from Findlay. Orders can be placed that day, while deliveries last.

March 15 – The BVC staff will volunteer at the Down Down Syndrome Carnival at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 800 S. Main St. from Findlay.

March 25 – Annual celebrity basketball play between local celebrities and special Olympics will leave at 7:00 pm at Findlay High School.

Almost 40 years old, K-2 Hancock County Class Alopes scheduled an invited reader to share the book, strictly without Lisa Mantchev elephants.

A display painting will be displayed at the Public Library of Findlay-Hancock County on March 1-15.
