19 -year -olds are pleading guilty of crime in connection with 2022 Shawnee shootings

Shawnee, Kan. (KCTV)-A 19-year-old man has been guilty of murder for more than 2 years after a man’s fatal shooting during an armed robbery was wrong in Shawnee.

Johnson County, Kansas, District Prosecutor Announced Friday, February 28, that Fernando Gonzalez-Prado, aged 19, was guilty of intentional murder of second grade and robbery in connection with a Fatal 2022 shooting.

Prosecutors noted that Gonzalez-Prado was declared culprit of aggravated robbery and conspiracy for committing the aggravated robbery.

The judicial documents revealed that on November 30, 2022, Shawnee Police Department was called to a business in the Johnson Dr. area and Nieman Rd. with requests to verify well -being.

When the first respondents arrived, they said they found Jarod Rogers in the parking lot suffering head traumas and injuries in accordance with a weapon kick. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died on December 2 as a result of his wounds.

At that time, investigators said Sabrina Clark, Kyleigh Guzman, Roger Hernandez, Gonzalez -Prado – who were all 17 at that time – and Fernando Reyes -Lara, who was 18 years old, were arrested and loaded.

In January 2024, the judicial documents indicated that Reyes-Lara was declared guilty of murder of the second degree and two accusations of robbery. In March, Was convicted to spend more than 33 years behind bars.

In August 2024, the judicial documents also noted that Guzman was sentenced to more than 12 years behind bars and 3 years of post-liberation surveillance for second-degree murder and aggravated robbery.

A presentation hearing for Gonzalez-Prado will take place at 11 in the morning on May 2.
