Gene Hackman was a generous human being.

The regretted Hollywood star, known for his legendary career, was also a man of generosity, as a long -time friend and former business partner, Doug Lanham, remembers with love.

Lanham, who once held Jinja Bar & Bistro in Santa Fe, New Mexico, met Hackman for the first time when the actor became a co-owner of the restaurant.

Even after he sold his share about seven years ago, Hackman remained a familiar face in Bistro, occasionally falling a meal – and sometimes raised the tab for a few lucky meals.

Lanham remembered how Hackman’s wife, Betsy Arakawa, held on a strict diet, which means that his usual dishes were halibut or rice salmon.

But when the opportunity appeared-especially during the golf-hackman outputs would slip into a well-won scam.

Unfortunately, the couple was found dead in their house in Santa Fe on Wednesday, February 26th. Hackman was 95, and Arakawa was 64 years old. While the authorities considered that their “suspicious” passage, the bad game is not suspected.

The sheriff in Santa Fe County, Adan Mendoza, revealed that, despite the fact that their bodies were discovered on February 26, the couple could die “until a few weeks” earlier.

“Only on the basis of their bodies and other evidence of the body, it appears a few days and, possibly, up to a few weeks,” he shared Mendoza in the Today show.

Asked if Hackman and his wife died at the same time or separately, Mendoza acknowledged that the calendar remains unclear.

“I think it’s very hard to determine. I think it will be close enough,” he said.

The authorities also found an orange prescription near Arakawa, with pills that are poured – a recognized sample mendoza acknowledged it as a crucial for the investigation.

“Obviously, it is a very important proof on the spot. This information was collected … Send the medical investigator to help them make a decision … Yes, we look at it specifically, and other medicines, possibly in the residence … this is something of concern,” he explained.

Lanham, remembering the sense of his friend’s sharp humor, shared the way Hackman was always ready with a joke – sometimes pressing a finger behind Lanham and told him to “reach the stars.”

As the investigation continues, those who met Hackman best remained with memories of his goodness, spirit and indisputable charm – both on the screen and outside the screen.
