Palomo process to return with the new jury in April

Laredo, Tex. (Kgns) – The four -day process for Daniel Palomo Jr. ended with the jury unable to reach a verdict after two days and almost nine hours of deliberations.

Friday, February 28, was the second day of deliberations, and in those nine hours of debate between a guilty or innocent plea, the case ended in a Mistrial.

The lawyer of criminal defense and one of Palomo’s legal representatives, Robert Balli, says he is satisfied with the result.

“Obviously, we would like to have been a verdict not guilty, but I think what we are happy is that most of the jurors have seen that Daniel is not guilty,” said Balli.

The case dates from October 2018 when it is assumed that Palomo attacked a man at a gas stationHowever, Palomo’s lawyer claimed self -defense.

Despite the result, Balli tells Kgns that the case continues, saying: “We will have another trial. We look forward to having another trial in this courtroom so we can bring our deeds. We have been at this for over six years, and Daniel is worth justice. Daniel is worth hearing his story. ”

Following the decision, the jurors came for the second day of deliberations at 8:30 AM on their first day, the jury failed to reach a verdict after about four hours.

Until noon on Friday, the president’s jury issued a note to a judicial executor, claiming that a jury did not participate. The note created a return to the court chambers, in which Palomo’s legal adviser said it is possible to remove the alleged non -participating jury.

The judge described the jury as “blocked”. Until 12:56 PM, the jury was brought back to the courtroom, where the president’s jury informed the judge that the problem was not with the participation, but rather that the jury could not reach a unanimous agreement because of a jury that did not agree with the majority.

After a long explanation of the meaning of a mystrial, the blocked jury was then sent back to deliberation.

Shortly after an hour, the decision was taken, a hung jury. The case is to continue with a new jury again in April.
