Great Western Rail Train Manager, who sexually assaulted 18 -year -old passenger while asking to check his ticket for seven years

A large western railway train manager was closed for seven years after sexually assaulted an 18-year-old passenger when he asked to check his ticket.

Nicholas McMurray, 38 years old, approached the victim and asked to see his ticket and adjusted the woman’s dress, the British Transport Police said.

The 18-year-old was talking and talking on the phone in the vestibule shortly before reaching Swansea, when McMurray sexually assaulted her on June 22, 2024.

He continued to keep the victim until the train entered the train station and made explicit sexual comments to it before touching it again as he got off the train.

The woman, who cannot be appointed for legal reasons, courageously reported the incident of the officers at the station.

The police found the 38 -year -old man standing next to the stationary train when he was arrested.

Predator McMurray was “immediately removed from work as a train manager for GWR” and no longer works there.

Since then he was found guilty of sexual assault, aggression by penetration as the Swansea Crown Court on February 5th.

Last year he was sentenced to seven years in prison and put sex criminals to life.

The investigation officer, the detective of Constanta Farrell, said: “When he was arrested, McMurray lied to the officers who claim that the victim had tried to kiss him and he pushed her.

“His lies continued in the interview, because he claimed that the victim has consented to his actions.”

He added: “McMurray completely abused his position and took advantage of this young woman.

I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to thank the victim for her courage and courage throughout the police investigation.

“McMurray will have to spend a period of time to reflect on the actions he has taken on that day.”

Anyone who is a victim or witness of a sexual crime in a railway has been urged to report it through the text 61016.

A GWR spokesman said: “We have hired ourselves to meet the highest standards of safety and confidence for our customers and employees.

“As soon as I became aware of the incident, I took immediate measures to eliminate the individual from work and he no longer works for the business.

“This conviction was possible only because of the victim’s huge courage to come before and by the strength and determination behind.

“As we welcome the court’s decision, our thoughts remain firm with her and her family.

“We extend the sincerity of the thank you for the British police for their thorough investigation in this regard and continue to work with them to maintain the safety of our trains and our stations.”
