Wild Fires in Los Angeles: Why do utility companies face negligence processes

The wild fires that incinerated entire neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area were among the most destructive in the history of the California state, killing at least 29 people and causing billions of dollars to material damage.

This loss of life and property led to a series of processes against two utilities: Edison International Inc.a supplier of electricity held by investors with operations in southern California and in Department of Water and Energy in Los AngelesThe largest municipal utility in the US. Some residents who have lost their homes, companies and loved ones claim that the utilities have failed to take adequate safety measures in an extremely vulnerable area.
