Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister Keith Starmer in London on Saturday before a summit, bringing together 12 European leaders in the British capital, confirmed the Starmer office.

“Prime Minister and President Zelenskyy will meet in Downing Street this afternoon,” a spokesman said, while the British media reported the arrival of a plane wearing the Ukrainian flag on an airport north of London.

The meeting comes while Ukraine’s European allies are preparing to gather behind Zelenskyy during Sunday’s summit following his controversial meeting with US President Donald Trump.

On Friday, Trump publicly criticized Zelenskyy and accused him of not “prepared” for peace with Russia, which led to the sudden departure of the Ukrainian leader from the White House, without signing an early mineral agreement.

The altercation in the Oval Office has amazed observers, causing most European leaders to express their support for Zelenskyy quickly. The London summit is expected to strengthen solidarity with Ukraine against the basis of tensions in progress with Russia.

“You are not alone,” said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

British prime minister Keir Starmer, fresh outside his visit to the White House, said he spoke to both Trump and Zelensky, following the collision and promised “unwavering support” for Kiev.
