Panvel hunting DHule, 30 -year -old for blackmail, who sexually assaulted a woman after secretly recorded video calls

Navi Mumbai: Panvel City police are looking for a 30 -year -old man from DHule because he had sexually blackmail a 38 -year -old woman from Kalyan. The accused, Syed Awez Syed Arif, would have extorted Rs 1.5 Lakh from the victim, after fulfilling it on Facebook and secretly recorded private video calls.

According to police reports, the accused connected with the woman on Facebook in 2022, and won confidence and obtained the phone number. Later, he convinced him to engage in video calls, which he secretly recorded. Using these records, he threatened to expose the videos of her husband and children, forcing her to meet her.

The victim was forced to meet the accused at the Swaraj hotel in Panvel, where he sexually assaulted. It seems that the attacks continued at her house in Kalyan and the residence of the accused in DHule. He also took 1.5 Lakh from her under threats, but refused to return the money.

When the woman asked for the money back, the accused would have assaulted her and abused her. As the blackmail persisted, it was close to the Panvel City police station, where a case was registered in several sections, including rape.

“We have registered the case according to the victim’s accusations and we are looking for the man,” said an officer from Panvel City Police Station.
