The coroner identifies the North Charleston man killed in deputy shots

Dorchester County, SC (WCSC) – The Coroner’s Office in Dripster County has launched the name of the man shot at death following a standoff with deputies from Dorchester County on Friday.

Robert S. Rose, 35, was pronounced dead at Trident Medical Center at 16:24, said the coroner Paul Brouthers.

The South Carolina law enforcement division investigates the shooting.

North Charleston police responded to a call of block 400 in Waverly Park Lane to help deputies with a critical situation involving a barricad suspect. Swat also replied on the spot.

Northern Charleston, Harve Jacobs police spokesman said he climbed when the suspect, identified as Rose, left the house through a window and approached a hat in each hand.

The police say that he then used the hat and assaulted one of the deputies, which eventually led to a suspected barricaded incident.

The deputy was treated for wounds who do not endanger and was released from the hospital, according to the spokesman of the Sheriff in Down, Steven Wright.

The deputies say that the officers have made clear and repeated orders to Rose, but it did not comply, which caused the officers to draw their weapons and to hit the suspect.

The officers immediately provided medical assistance, and EMS took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sam Richardson sheriff thanked the law enforcement forces for the assistance and response to the incident.

“We want to thank all our partners for the law enforcement at the Federal, State and Local levels, the Northern Charleston Fire Department, the Down EMS County of Mental Health and the Emergency Management Division of the County of the County of the County of the County and collaborative to this incident,” he said.

Rose’s body will suffer an autopsy on Monday morning, Brouthers said.
