“In the early hours of Friday, the kidnappers pressed us, warning that if we did not meet their requirements, we should not expect it to return,” Agbakwara wrote.

He explained that a collective effort that involves Lawal’s schoolmates, members of the Muslim Association, friends and family members helped increase N1.1 million.

Rofiat was released on Friday after redemption

Redemption was paid in an account provided by kidnappers, with a man named Isaac Ayo, claiming that his sister was abducted and promising to deliver money.

After a few hours of restless waiting, Lawal and other victims were released on Friday night and were taken to a hospital for medical care.

“Finally, around 10 pm, I received a long -awaited call: they were released and taken to the hospital,” Agbakwara said.
