According to municipal officials, the extent is about two km and connects key areas such as pernambut, Ambur, Pallikonda and Katpadi in Tamil Nadu with Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

The demolition drive restored the initial width of the road (40 meters) from 20 meters.

Blinkers, reflectors and steel railings would also be installed the speed switches built in the following weeks to prevent accidents and ensure road safety, officials said.
