The Dutch thief confesses nine years

The cold case dates from January 18, 2016. A thief stole several hundred euros from a gas station in the south of the Dutch city of Terneuzen.

The cashier was able to give a detailed description of the thief and the police opened an investigation, but could not find their man, and the case remained unresolved.

“Until now,” the police reported in a jubilee statement.

“A 28 -year -old man, who now lives in Arnhem, has probably had a guilty consciousness and has recently surrendered to the police in his hometown,” the authorities said.

The man expressed regret for the crime and said he wants to pay the money.

Prosecutors now weigh how to proceed.
