The man in Marquette County advocates guilty of 9 charges of sexually abusive activity

Marquette, Mich. (Wuc) – a man from Marquette County was convicted of child pornography charges.

John Anderson, twenty -two, appeared on Monday morning for a pleading hearing in Marquette County Circuit. He pleaded guilty for nine charges of sexually abusive activity for children.

The other nine charges of using a computer for committing a crime have been abandoned as part of a pleading agreement.

Anderson was arrested in August after Michigan State Police learned that he sees sexual abusive content for online children.

After looking for his home, investigators confiscated digital evidence. Anderson’s lawyer, Karl Numinen, spoke in court on Monday, supporting the plea agreement.

“Mr. Anderson made some Instagram accounts not on his behalf, but under a pseudonym,” Numine said. “It seems to have downloaded them and sent them to the pseudonym accounts. I am not sure if there were other recipients, but the investigative reports, I think, did not analyze the accounts he created.”

The prosecutor agreed with the plea agreement. Anderson’s conviction is set for April 24 at 8:30 am
