The fourth attempt to try the former director of the Williamsport High School for the alleged sexual assault for sex | News, sports, jobs

A new attempt to try a former high school director of the Williamsport area for his alleged sexual relationship with a former student made it until Monday in the first day in Judge Eric Linhardt.

This is the fourth time that a jury was chosen for Roger Weaver Freed, who was arrested in June 2022 and initially accused of 30 indecent sexual contact accusations, a number of sexual assault, indecent aggravated aggression and corrupting minor morals and three actions of a crime offense with an alcohol student.

Two of the number of furniture were subsequently abandoned after it was discovered that the status of the limitations expired before submitting the charges.

In July 2020, while his bride was busy making her last-minute wedding plans, Freed had sex conversations with the text with the alleged recently graduated victim, said the first lawyer of District Wade in his opening statement.

In that exchange read aloud in court, Freed, 36, from 1131 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan station, showed intimate knowledge about the sexual interests of the accuser. How? Because Freed has engaged in sexual conduct with him on numerous occasions starting in his year of junior, Wade said.

Their contact started innocent, Freed acting as a guide of youth before starting slowly contact and discussing sexual themes, culminating with Freed to perform a sexual act on the alleged victim over a few years, Wade told the jury. Many of these interactions occurred when Freed would pick him up after athletic practice or after taking him for driving lessons.

In an attempt to go out before the defense strategy, Wade did not make any secret of the fact that the alleged victim in this case was previously accused by the rape of a child in April 2022.

Finally, this case was rejected due to the fact that the alleged victim does not want to testify, according to the authorities.

“The person in the process is Roger Freed”, “ Wade told the jury, stressing that the two cases were treated independently of each other.

According to Wade, Freed lied two hours and 19 minutes during his interview with the police before saying, “I did not hire in anything sexual while he was intentionally student,” a Wade statement called “Freudien slips.”

Also, there would be evidence that the criminal prosecution did not recognize Wade, because there were no records of any of the alleged acts.

“The victim is a human being, not a film reel. There will be things that he does not remember at all and things that he remembers differently ”,” Said Wade.

“Do not hold it to an impossible standard”, Wade begged the jury.

Defense lawyer David Lampman took these possible inconsistencies to question the credibility of the alleged victim.

“The only evidence you will hear is from the supposed victim and the things he said to others”, “ Lampman told the jury.

His event chronology continues to change, because the whole story is built from lies, he said, painting the supposed victim as “of manipulation,” “change,” and “Deceptive”.

The alleged victim and Freed remained in a hotel together, when the former director, who worked at his doctorate at Duquesne University, offered the accuser a walk there to meet athletic staff, but remained in separate beds, Lampman said.

Lampman also stressed a series of lies told by the police by the accuser, including two separate statements indicating that the accuser lived alone in Williamsport, or at Pittsburgh during the upper year, following Williamsport Area High School.

Although the alleged victim was 18 years old during his entire year, sexual contact with Freed started only after graduation, at which time Freed will have no authority on him, said Defense Lawyer.

By admitting Wade that there would be certain types of evidence that are not presented, Lampman stressed that the police could not find anything substantially indicating Freed’s guilt.

Contracting Wade’s opening, Lampman claimed that the accusations against Freed were a fiction work created by the accuser “weasel” His exit from his own rape child accusations.

In the face of a possible 102 -year prison sentence, the alleged victim saw liberated as a “The key piece” As for what the accusations are leaving, Lampman said.

“The district lawyer’s office has taken the bait, hook, line and sinking”, “ he said. “Offers have been made and that’s why Roger Freed is here. Because they wanted a bigger fish. “

“What a person accused of crimes such as these are walking without conviction, time of imprisonment and requirement to register sexual criminals”, “ he asked.

“This business must be the envy of children everywhere”, “” Lampman said.

“In order to condemn Roger Freed, you must believe the supposed victim,” Lampman said. “Do not make the same mistake that the criminal prosecution made.”

“You have to question the trial of the Commonwealth. You are a control of the power of the Commonwealth Lampman concluded.

The only witness who was called on the first day was the supposed victim, who will continue his cross exam today.
