Datuk’s son, among three charges of tape robbery, firearms in Johor

Johor Baru, March 4 – Three members of the Adik Mamat band, including the son of a Datuk, pleaded guilty in sessions and the courts of the magistrate today for the charges of band robbery, holding firearms and holding a firearm to imitation last month.

The three people faced six common and separate charges.

In the court of sessions, Judge Datuk Ahmad Kamal Arifin Ismail has heard accusations against Mohamad Haidar Abdullah, 34, and N. Klement Raj, 38, who were jointly accused of committing the bandwidth that involved Hon Chong Seng.

It was assumed that the pair robbed HRM3,500 in cash, an iPhone XS Max, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, an automatic car (ATM) card, a driving license, an identity card and a wallet.

The charges were filed in accordance with section 395 of the Criminal Code for band robbery, which has a maximum prison term of 20 years and the whip on conviction.

Separately, Mohamad Haidar was also accused of illegally holding a firearm – a Black Sig Pistol, with a black heel – at a house in Jalan Rahmat, Kampung Melayu Majidee, at 13:05, on February 17.

This crime is in section 8 of the 1971 law of firearms (increased penalties), which provides for a prison sentence of up to 14 years and the whip that does not exceed six strokes.

Deputy Public Prosecutors Amirah Tasnim Saleh and Nur Diyana Zubir were occupied by the case, while the adviser of the National Legal Assistance Foundation, Nur Zafirah Noriririzan, represented Mohamad Haidar.

Judge Ahmad Kamal refused the bail for the three accused and set on April 10 for mention and the submission of documents.

In a court of separate sessions, Judge Che Wan Zaidi Che Wan Ibrahim chaired additional accusations against Mohamad Haidar and Klement Raj, who were accused of sharing a bandwin against another victim, Chem Sooi.

It was assumed that they stole RM650 in cash, an ATM card and an identity card in front of a cafe at Jalan Sutera 3, Taman Sentosa, at 5:00 on February 14th.

Judge Che Wan Zaidi granted bail to 10,000 RM for each accused with conditions, including the teaching of passports, referring to the nearest police station once a month and abstaining to interfere with witnesses.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Fadilah Johanuddin followed the case, while lawyer K. Muthiah represented Klement Raj. Also, the court set on April 10 for mention and the submission of documents.

Meanwhile, at the courtyard of the magistrate, another alleged member of the Adik Mamat band, Muhammad Zul Syamsi Datuk Johari, 38, pleaded guilty to the magistrate A. Sharmini for the charge of holding a firearm.

It is assumed that the crime took place at a house on Jalan Rahmat, Kampung Melayu Majidee, at 13:35 on February 17th.

The accusation was made in accordance with section 36 (1) of the 1960 weapon law, which has a maximum prison sentence of one year, a fine up to RM5,000 or both, on conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Fatihah Mohd Nizam followed the case. Muhammad Zul Syamsi was not represented.
