“Suspends Abu Azmi from the Assembly”: Shiv Sena announces state -level protest for observations about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj | News from Mumbai

Mumbai: Shiv Sena announced on Tuesday a state -level protest against statements considered disrespectful Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The party strongly condemned the observations made by the leader of the Samajwadi Party, Abu Azmi and demands strict actions against him.
Shiv Sena asked for a residence file to be submitted against Azmi and asked for the suspension from the Maharashtra assembly for glorifying the leader Mughal Aungzeb.
The party accused Azmi of insulting the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and injured the feelings of the people in Maharashtra.
Party leaders have promised to intensify their agitation unless immediate measures are taken. They asked the Government to take a firm position against any attempt to distort history and do not respect the respect of the venerated historical figures of the state.
The controversy broke out after Azmi’s alleged observations appeared, arousing out of departure among leaders and supporters Shiv Sena. The party warned of climbing the protests in Maharashtra until their requests were fulfilled.
The Samajwadi Party, MLA Abu Azmi, issued an excuse on his recent comments in the praise of Emperor Aurangzeb. While he offered his apologies, he defended his position by stating that his observations were based on historical stories and writings about the Mughal leader. He stressed that his comments were not intended not to comply with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj or Sambhaji Maharaj and claimed that “his words were twisted.”

Case registered against SP MLA ASIM ASIM AZMI over observations about Auranngzeb
The Wagle Estate police have registered a file against the Samajwadi Party, MLA ASIM ASIM, on the controversial of his observations praising the leader Mughal Aungzeb, who would have hurt Hindu feelings.
The complaint was filed by MP Naresh Ganpat Mhaske and Shiv Sena leaders at the Wagle Estate Police Section. According to the complaint, AZMI glorified Aurabzeb’s rule while reducing his historical acts of oppression.
The leaders of Shiv Sena condemned the statements of Azmi, calling -io attempt to distort history and insult Hindu feelings. The case has aroused political tensions, with requests for strict actions against the SP leader.
