The Whipsnade Leo triplets are two men and a woman, the zoo reveals

The first health check of three lion chicks revealed that two of them are men, and the third is a woman.

Whipsnade zoo at Bedfordshire said that 11 -week chicks are doing well, but one of the men had a cardiac murmur, and the other was not going.

The triplets in North Africa were born in Leoaica Winta and Malik – both three -year -olds – at the attraction of November 25th.

Senior veterinary officer Dr. Taina Strike said that the mother of the chicken, Winta, is doing well, and one of the triplets will be “under veterinary observation for the coming weeks.”

Winta was one of the two lioness moved to Whipsnade at Antwerp Zoo in May 2023.

The Zoo said that the scientific studies of 2017 have shown that of the two distinct subspecies of the African – northern and northern lions, they faced greater threats in the wild and, therefore, were “in the greatest vital attention of conservation.”

Dr. Strike added: “Not only does the health check allow us to evaluate their progress and increase the immune systems of young chicken, but every opportunity to examine an animal increases our knowledge and veterinary expertise, which we can apply directly to the animals that we and our colleagues around the world are protecting in the world.”

The leader of the Predators team, Steve Merrick-White, said the brothers “already develop strong personalities-the woman is really feastal and daring, while one of the men is a little quieter, but it can repair you with a good look.”

“These three chicks are important for the breeding program for their sadly threatened subspecies,” he said.

Chicken vital statistics will be added to Species360A zoological software system for keeping the records used to manage the data on the well -being, health and population of animals under human care.
