Twenty -two welding receives 18 years for robbery

Akropong (ASH) March 04, a 22-year-old GNA was sentenced to 18 years in prison in hard work, by Astean Akropong Circuit Court in the North District of Atwima Nwabiagya to the robbery at the Bokankye, near Akropong.

Williams Amoateng pleaded guilty and was convicted for his own reason, by the court chaired by Mrs. Gloria Mensah Bonsu.

Police Chief Inspector, Evans Baaba Ayimbisah, the prosecutor told the court that Owusu’s blessing, the plaintiff was a tricycle and resident in Atwima Agogo, while Amoateng, and his accomplices, a Jolley, who is now in general, lived in such Bokankye.

He said that, on February 25, this year, around 8:00 pm, the plaintiff, who was responsible for his tricycle (Pragia) with the registration number M-2023-AS 2221, was in his normal activity in Abuakwa and his vegs.

The convicted person, along with his accomplices, hired the services to Aease Bokankye, but on the way, Amoateng ordered the applicant to stop, and he complied.

According to the criminal prosecution, the two left the vehicle and, from a date, raised a stick and a stone and threatened that they would hurt the applicant if he failed to hand over the vehicle evaluated to 46,000 GH and the sales of his day.

They took the vehicle and Gh ¢ 750 of cash and they screwed up.

The prosecutor’s office stated that, on February 27, this year, the applicant noticed Amoateng at Aease Bokankye and raised an alarm.

With the help of some people, the convict was arrested and handed over to the Pokukrom police.

He recognized the crime in his caution statement and told the police that he had sold someone from Kumasi-Alabar.

However, he could not follow the buyer mentioned when the police led him.

After other investigations, he was accused and brought before the court.
