NHL BUZZ: The nurse was expecting to return due to wounds for sheep against ducks

Welcome to NHL Buzz. Every day in the regular season, nhl.com covered you with all the latest news.

Edmonton Oilers

The Darnell assistant is expected to return from an undesirable injury against Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday (9 pm et; SN1, Victory+).

Defender Oilers missed the last two of a five-game road trip that ended with a 3-1 victory at Carolina Hurricanes. He collapsed in the corner plates trying to hit Mitchell Chaffee in the first period of a 4-1 losing at Tampa Bay Lightning on February 25th.

The nurse was slow to get up and was seen to work on the bench, although she played the rest of the game. Chaffee lost a margin just before the impact, and the nurse entered the boards hard, with the left shoulder absorbing most of the impact.

“We hope we will see,” said the nurse after practice on Monday. “It is not fun to follow anytime, especially a journey like this. I thought I played well in Florida (losses 4-3 on February 27) and then had a great team game in Carolina. I am hard to follow, but it is very fun when you see boys who go out there and make huge pieces as I did in Carolina. “

The nurse has 22 points (four goals, 18 assistants) in 55 games, while it has an average of 21:49 ice time.

The 30-year-old missed three games from November 18-21, following a Toronto Maple Leafs, Ryan Reave, in a loss of 4-3 overtime, November 16th. Reaves was suspended five games for illegal control.

“Darnell looked very good (in practice),” coach Edmonton, Kris Knoblauch, said on Monday. “I did not check with our medical staff, but I think there is a very good probability to be (play).” – Derek van Diest

Seattle Kraken

Philipp Grubauer was mentioned from the Coachella Valley in the American Hockey League on Sunday.

The 33 -year -old goalkeeper has been in AHL since January 30, after being renounces by Kraken. He went with 5-2-0 with a percentage of 2.87 GAA and a percentage of .893 in seven games for Coachella Valley.

When he was placed at the renunciation, Grubauer was 5-15-1 with a 3.83 GAA and .866 percentage saving in 21 NHL games. His percentage GAA and his saving were the last of the 54 goals that played at least 15 games this season.

“It’s great to go back,” Grubauer said on Monday. “Great to go down (at AHL), enter a few games and enter a little at a rate and see some pucks and see some play situations.”

Grubauer is in the fourth season of a six-year contract, of $ 35.4 million (annual value of $ 5.9 million) that he signed on July 28, 2021. In four seasons with Kraken, he is 54-76-12 with a 3.10 GAA, .890 saving percentage and five closing in 151 games (145).

Seattle (26-31-4) hosts Minnesota Wild on Tuesday (10 PM Et; FDSNWIX, FDSNNOX, KHN, Kong).

“Good to see him back,” said Kraken’s coach Dan Bylsma, about Grubauer. “I think a few weeks ago, he had the opportunity to go down to (Coachella Valley) with the mind to play a few games and recover his game.

“… a real professional. He served as an example for the group there, in terms of treating with a certain adversity in his place and career and put his head down and continued his work. “
