Supply Committee 2025 Debate, Day 3: Nadia Ahmad Samdin for approaching online damages

There has been an increase in the seriousness and prevalence of online damage, such as cyberbullying and non-consistent sharing of intimate images, MP Nadia Ahmad Samdin said on Tuesday (March 4). She mentioned that Singapore has developed a framework to approach and mitigate these online damages through different laws and that the plans of the Ministry of Law to establish a dedicated agency, encodes the statutory thoughts and lifting the anonymity veil to increase the responsibility and strengthen the government’s efforts. She also asked the Ministry of Law to elaborate on the nature of the assistance in a timely manner, which will be offered to the victims of online damages.
