Man Danville with dementia his wife, in court several parts after his arrest

Danville, Ky. (Lex 18) – Cindy Lou Hardwick and John Hardwick, the dementia man who was accused of shopping in a Danville Walmart in 2024, sued the Police Department and the arrest officer of TJ Godbey, along with additional parties.

Lawyer Ephraim Helton filed a federal complaint also appointing Danville, PD chief Danville City Anthony Gray, PD assistant chief Danville Glenn Doan, officers Danville, Brandon Conley and Benjamin Ray.

The document writes: “The lack of training of the police on the signs and symptoms that a person can expose because he has dementia puts these people in an extreme danger when he meets the police.”

In addition, the complaint claims that the officers “falsified the police reports” and “tried to obtain criminal convictions for erroneous criminal charges to cover illegal behavior.”

Hardwick’s accusations were rejected with prejudices, Lex 18 previously reported.
