Evansville, ind. (Wfie)-a 63-year-old man spends time in prison after police said he left the place of an accident while drunk on Tuesday night.

Around 8:20 pm, Evansville police officers were called to the intersection between St. Joseph Avenue and Lloyd Expressway for a three -vehicle accident.

As they headed to the scene, the officers were announced a red van that was involved in the accident left the place.

One of the victims told the police that she was stopped at a red light on St. Joe, when she was finished from behind by a utility vehicle.

The victim says that the driver, later identified as Roger L. Spalding, got out of the car and continued repeatedly to say “I’m sorry, child, it was my fault.” I am sorry. ”

She said that Spalding never gave her a permit or insurance permit before leaving.

Another victim whose car was hit in the accident told the police that he had a picture with the suspect’s registration plate before leaving.

The officers ran the number of the registration plate and discovered that it belongs to a distribution company.

Deputies from Warrick County spoke to the manager, who confirmed that the utility vehicle was driven only by Roger Spalding.

The manager also told the authorities that washing the utility vehicle with him as part of his job.

The officers then arrived at the Spalding’s house and took him into arrest.

According to a statement, Spalding told the police that “F ***** up” and left the scene because he was scared.

While he was in the hospital, Spalding spoke to several officers and told them he had four beers at Riverbend before driving.

He also admitted that he drank two beers when he returned home.

The police say that at 10:30 pm, more than two hours after the accident, Spalding blows 0.129 on a PBT.

Spalding was arrested and reserved in the prison in Vanderburgh County, under the charge of operation, while in a state of intoxication (danger) and left the place of a material damage. He is restrained unrelated.
