Midlands politician accused of multiple sexual crimes

IRMO, SC (WIS) – The city of MRIO Pro TEM was arrested on Tuesday and accused of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

A report from the department of Lexington County Sheriff (LCSD) shows that Erik Kenneth Sickinger is experiencing three accusations of second -degree criminal conduct, a minor under the age of 16, three accusations to contribute to the delinquency of a minor and a number of lure or to try to attract or attract a child.

Sickinger received a guarantee obligation of $ 200,000 with conditions that include a GPS monitor and no contact with the victim.

According to the website of the city of Mrmo, Sickinger, 42 years old, was elected to the Municipal Council in 2020 and was appointed mayor of the following year.

The city of MRMO launched a statement that said:

“The city of MRMO is aware that Tuesday after -amia was arrested by law agencies (SLED) in South Carolina (SLED). The city was informed that he was taken to the detention center of Lexington County and that the accusations against him are not related to his role as a member of the Council.

As this is an active problem of law enforcement, the city will not provide other comments. All questions should be directed to the sled ”.

What is a pro -top mayor?

After a new council is seated, the members vote on their own president named the Pro Tem Mayor. This position serves on behalf of the mayor when the mayor is not available and also presides over meetings.

Sickinger was a municipal representative of the Intergovernmental Advisory Committee of the Federal Communications Commission from 2022 to 2024.

This position, together with the other members, offers aid to the Telecommunications Commission.
