Britton and Sting in New York celebrates World Water Day with a free concert

Fresh water is the reason why human life can be sustained on earth and yet, pollution, economic inequality and climate change make the precious resource harder to access millions. We are not talking so much because, well, how do you become aware of sexy water?

This year, a free concert at Gramercy Theatre, on March 24, aims to do only this, with panels, workshops and an immersive theatrical performance of the iconic Britton & the Slow Group.

RECOMMENDED: An experience of Skims just appeared in the middle of Times Square

The March 24 event is led by the mother, a theatrical experience that was ordered for the first time by Small island And led by the winning artist of the Tony Prize, Britton Smith and his band, Britton & The Sting. Last summer, the mother played five shows sold on a stage on the floating park-which is surrounded by the Hudson River on all sides-promoted conversations about the importance of water not only for our physical survival, but also as a cultural force that binds us all.

“Unfortunately, it is difficult to do something sexy, which we think is too easy to reach,” says Smith Break. “But when we take care of time to remember history, travel and give the water voice as our mother, something sexy happens. A wake. A return. A new. This is sexy. And this is available to us all.

The purpose of the mother is to “awaken the audience to their deep and inherent connection with water.” By merging music with personal stories, the experience at Gramercy Theater will invite the public to consider water as a living organism trying to communicate with us, not just an inanimate, lifeless resource.

World Water Day, which was set up by United nations, It is observed on March 22 and aims to educate people on water issues. Although you might think that the water crisis will largely affect developing countries, places like the US, Australia and Spain tighten their freshwater resources because of extended agricultural activityAccording to the World Wild Animal Fund, which means New York should be exploited.

The World Water Day The mother will be hosted in partnership with the US alliance, the daughters for Earth, Food & Water Watch, Biobat, Colombia Climate School and Columbia Water Center.
