Washington (DPA -AFX) – a quick review by the Government efficiency department in the US Defense Department has revealed that about 80 million in funds have been wasted in programs that do not support the main DOD mission.

In a video posted on social networks, the spokesman of the Pentagon chief, Sean Parnell, read some of the initial conclusions at Doge.

Among the Doge conclusions, Parnell has highlighted $ 1.9 million for holistic diversity, equity and transformation and training; $ 6 million to the University of Montana to “strengthen the American democracy by pushing the divisions”; $ 3.5 million from human resources activity to support the dei groups; and $ 1.6 million to the University of Florida to study “social and institutional detrimals of vulnerability and resistance to climatic dangers in () Sahel African”.

In total, Doge’s full set of initial findings reveals about $ 80 million in wasteful expenses, which could be better spent for lethality and training, he said.

Parnell said that the Doge team has just started to root the expenses of the department that are not aligned with the main priorities of the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

“These things are not a basic function of our army. We don’t do that. This is a distraction from our basic mission, ”he said. “Today’s actions are just the beginning; (there are more) more to come this week. Again, we work manually in a dog with dog. So, stay up to date in the following weeks as we cut the fat, keep the muscle, (and) make a more capable and lethal mission. “
