High Court Jharkhand orders Uidai to reveal Aadhaar details to follow the victim of human trafficking

High Court Jharkhand orders Uidai to reveal Aadhaar details to follow the victim of human trafficking

The court, on February 19, 2024, denied the security of the accused, mainly because the minor trafficked victims are still pursued.

The problem was continued pending, after the police said that all their attempts to find that the victims had failed and now an effort has been made to get details about the Aadhaar card of one of the victims.

However, Uidai said that the details of the Aadhaar card can only be provided under the leadership of the High Court.

Then, the court claimed that Uidai can directly disclose the information in section 33 (2) of the Aadhaar law, which allows the competent authority to do so in the interest of national security.

It is also said that traffickers are a national security problem, because they deal with the next generation, ie the young children of the nation who endanger the national interest. There may be chances of involving such children in terrorist activities that lead to threat to national security and, by this, the law will fall under the falma of section 15 of the UA Law (P), 1967”, The court noted on February 11th.
