Suspect arrested on fatal shootings at Carrollwood Basketbaclow Court

The deputies arrested a suspect about a shot in a carrollwood park this week, who left a dead man and hurt another.

Anthony Cabrera Morales, 18 years old, was arrested under the second degree murder charge with a firearm and a 1st degree murder attempted on Tuesday at a Plantation subdivision, the Sheriff’s office in Hillsborough said on Thursday.

Brian Jones, 19 years old, was killed and another man was injured. The sheriff’s office did not launch the name of the second man.

The deputies responded on Tuesday around 7:25 pm to a call about shootings drawn on a basketball court in Plantation Park, near Parkcrest Drive, according to information released. Found two men who had been shot.

Both men were taken to a local hospital, where Jones died. The other man was listed in a stable condition Wednesday.

Detectives identified Morales as a shooter after witnessing witnesses, according to the sheriff’s office.

An arrest statement was not available immediately on Thursday.
