Cherokee County, NC (WDEF) – the drug -plating unit in Cherokee County arrested a man with multiple drug trafficking.

Recent arrest was a development in a case that started in January 2024. Colby Brett Philips was arrested and charged with methamphetamine trafficking after finding 125 grams of the substance in its possession. I was issued an obligation of $ 400.00 that he posted.

After release, the sheriff’s office continued to investigate Phillips after receiving information that indicated that he sells illegal narcotics again.

On March 4, 2025, the office agents of the sheriff performed a stop of traffic on Phillips, who was driving without a valid driving license. During stop, agents found that Phillips had 14.5 grams of methamphetamine, a gun and over $ 4,900.

Phillips was arrested and a search warrant was executed at Phillips’s resident. 250 grams of methamphetamine, over $ 5,000 were found in cash and various drug parafernils.

Phillips is accused of:

• Two accusations of possession with the intention of selling or delivering methamphetamine
• Two accusations of methamphetamine of traffic
• Two accusations of detention of drug parafernalia
• Maintaining a living place for controlled substances

On March 5, Phillips was issued at a bond of $ 250,000, in addition to its existing bond of $ 400.00 from its previous arrest. Currently, he remains in arrest.
