Davao fire district holds the fire safety unit in 26 by Barangays

The Davao City fire district will visit 26 Barangays this year as part of their program “Oplan Ligtas SA Pamayanan” – an initiative to strengthen their fire safety efforts.

The main fire inspector, Frances Marie Sendrijas, the head of the Davao City Fire District information district, said that, since January, they have visited seven of the 26 target Barangays, namely, Barangays Tigatto, Buhangin, Lasang, Mahayag, Lanang, Lapu-Lapu and Ilanang.

They look to complete their visit to the village of Barangays 19-B Fatima and the village of Awhag 19-B, Barangays 1 and 10th, own Toril, Panacan, Talomo Propres, Matina Pangi, Indangan, Riverside, Calinan, Mental and Tugbok, among others.

Sendrijas said they had 50 fire exercises from January to February this year.

The initiative was launched in 2018, when the city’s fire district visited Barangays and educated residents on essential preventive measures to increase community awareness, reduce fire risks and encourage a “training and safety culture”.

The Davao City Fire District also carries out the homemade inspections to identify the potential fire hazards.

Sendrijas asked Dabawenyos to participate in Fire Square Roadshow on March 15 and 16 in the area of ​​activity of the annex SM City Davao and on March 29 and 30 in the Aylala Malls Abbreheza area, as part of the Fire Prevention Moon.

She said that the purpose of the roadshow is to learn the public, especially the young generation, the essential skills of life rescue and fire safety.
